  As the name implies, a "seamless" pipe is manufactured without a welded seam along its length. This is achieved through a sophisticated process, most commonly the Mannesmann mandrel mill method. It begins with a solid cylindrical billet of carbon steel, which is heated to a high temperature.

 A piercing rod is then forced through the center of the rotating billet to create a hollow shell. This shell is subsequently elongated and rolled over a mandrel and through a series of stands to achieve the desired diameter, wall thickness, and length. The absence of a weld seam is the pipe's primary advantage, eliminating a potential point of failure and ensuring uniform strength and structural integrity around its entire circumference.
