321 Stainless steel coil is a titanium-stabilized austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel. This alloy is renowned for its excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range. The addition of titanium, which is a strong carbide-forming element, enhances its suitability for use in high-temperature applications.

Key Features & Advantages
Excellent High-Temperature Properties: 321 exhibits superior strength and oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures (up to 900°C / 1650°F for continuous service and up to 925°C / 1697°F for intermittent service).
Intergranular Corrosion Resistance: The titanium addition minimizes the formation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries during welding and high-temperature exposure, preventing the depletion of chromium and thus maintaining corrosion resistance.
Good General Corrosion Resistance: Inherits excellent corrosion resistance from its 18-8 chromium-nickel base, similar to Type 304, making it suitable for a wide range of mildly corrosive environments.
Ease of Fabrication: Demonstrates good formability and weldability. It can be readily fabricated using common techniques.
