Key Features & Advantages

  • Excellent High-Temperature Properties: 321 exhibits superior strength and oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures (up to 900°C / 1650°F for continuous service and up to 925°C / 1697°F for intermittent service).

  • Intergranular Corrosion Resistance: The titanium addition minimizes the formation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries during welding and high-temperature exposure, preventing the depletion of chromium and thus maintaining corrosion resistance.

  • Good General Corrosion Resistance: Inherits excellent corrosion resistance from its 18-8 chromium-nickel base, similar to Type 304, making it suitable for a wide range of mildly corrosive environments.

  • Ease of Fabrication: Demonstrates good formability and weldability. It can be readily fabricated using common techniques.
